Going Green!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while... I lost the password.

In my personal life I've noticed how wasteful I know I can be, so I've decided to become more green, and no I don't mean to be green with envy. To become green according to urban dictionary is to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle. So I looked up some simple tips!

1. Turn off the lights when you leave a room or if you don't need it on. Electricity production generates more than 1.9 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year so this simple act could really make a difference.

2. Eat less beef. You don't have to cut out meat entirely, just try to focus your meals on the vegetables and less on the meat. Not only does it help you live a healthier life, Plant based diets require less resources to maintain.

3. Use green cleaning supplies. Many Americans have bad reactions to common household chemicals. Cleaning with 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar and a few drops of olive oil costs less than a dollar and a lot safer.

For more ways to be green just look online (that is where I got these tips... thanks www.wholeliving.com), everyone has a random tip that makes a big difference. I recently started gardening and eating my veggies as a snack instead of going to the store and buying chips (sometimes). And I have also started a compost pile to use next year for my garden.

Hopefully you jump on the going green trend, it's better for everyone and honestly it makes me feel like I'm doing something.

Share your tips on going green, I'd love to hear them!
